Expressions

An expression is a custom emoji or sticker that one guild owns. The metadata routes find one by its ID, even when you aren't in the guild that owns it. The source routes return that guild only when it is discoverable or you are a member. For the uploader, and for a sticker's description and tags, use the routes in Guild emojis and Guild stickers.

Emoji metadata object

The basic fields of a custom emoji and the ID of the guild that owns it.

Structure

Field	Type	Description
id	snowflake	The ID of the emoji
guild_id	snowflake	The ID of the guild that owns the emoji
name	string	The name of the emoji (2-32 characters)
animated	boolean	Whether the image is animated
allow_cloning	boolean	Whether the guild lets people copy the emoji to their own guild (CLONE_EMOJI_ENABLED)

Sticker metadata object

The basic fields of a sticker and the ID of the guild that owns it.

Structure

id	snowflake	The ID of the sticker
guild_id	snowflake	The ID of the guild that owns the sticker
name	string	The name of the sticker (2-30 characters)
animated	boolean	Whether the image is animated
allow_cloning	boolean	Whether the guild lets people copy the sticker to their own guild (CLONE_STICKER_ENABLED)

Expression source guild object

A short view of the guild that owns an emoji or sticker, with its name, icon and badge features.

Structure

features	array[string]	Which of VERIFIED, PARTNERED and DISCOVERABLE the guild has, from its guild features

Get emoji metadata

GET/v1/emojis/{emoji_id}/metadataBot

Returns the emoji metadata object of any guild emoji. You don't need to be in the guild that owns it.

The rate limit is 60 requests per 10 seconds, on the guild:emoji:metadata::user_id bucket.

Get sticker metadata

GET/v1/stickers/{sticker_id}/metadataBot

Returns the sticker metadata object of any guild sticker. You don't need to be in the guild that owns it.

Get emoji source guild

GET/v1/emojis/{emoji_id}/sourceBot

Returns the guild that owns the emoji when the guild is discoverable or you are a member of it.

Returns the guild that owns the sticker when the guild is discoverable or you are a member of it.
